Description

The Assistant Division Manager - Water Treatment Operations performs difficult skilled technical and administrative work assisting with the management of the Water Supply and Treatment Division. This position includes the Raw Water Supply Facility Operations, Water Treatment Plant Operations (Conventional and Low Pressure Submerged Membranes), Distribution System Pumping Facilities, Residuals De-Watering Facility and Preventative Maintenance Management Program; does related work as required.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Manager - Water Supply & Treatment Division (WS&T).  Continuous supervision is exercised over assigned staff.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, business, information management, or related field and considerable progressively responsible experience in water treatment and/or laboratory management including considerable supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Possession on NC A-Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator certification upon hire.  Obtain NC Water Process Control Chemistry or Water Bacteriology - Total and Fecal Coliforms certification within two years of hire.  NIMS IS-700, 100, 200 and 300 level classes within twelve months of hire.
