California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Cybersecurity & AI within the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics. We are seeking an innovative and interdisciplinary scholar who will help develop and lead a forward-thinking, applied curriculum that integrates cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and strategic business management. This faculty hire supports the MVS School’s emerging direction in blending cybersecurity and AI to equip students with the skills to strategically manage digital risk, lead ethical AI integration, and build organizational resilience in an increasingly data-driven world.

Requirements
Minimum Degree Requirements:
A Doctoral degree (PhD, DBA, or equivalent) or ABD from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Degree must be completed by August 1, 2026.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated preparation to teach cybersecurity, AI, and/or information systems in a university setting.
Demonstrated potential for research, scholarly, and creative activities, leading to peer-reviewed publication.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports student academic success.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or certifications in AI/ML frameworks.
Interest or experience in cybersecurity risk management, AI governance, or cyber analytics.
Experience using innovative instructional strategies and technologies (e.g., generative AI, predictive analytics).
Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
Work or consulting experience in sectors such as healthcare, finance, or technology where AI and cybersecurity intersect.
Responsibilities:
CI faculty members are teacher/scholars who are expected to engage in an ongoing program of scholarship demonstrating intellectual and professional growth. Additionally, all faculty members are expected to assume an active collegial role in planning and governance through service on Martin V. Smith School of Business and Economics and campus-wide committees. Faculty members are expected to promote cross-cultural awareness and service to the community.
