Description
The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Public Health is recruiting for an Environmental Health Scientist at the Associate Professor level for a state-funded, tenure-track faculty position. The School is planning to expand into a building that will include renovated laboratories for public health research and instruction, and the candidate will help to develop and oversee this laboratory space.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of funded research in an area of high relevance to public health, such as environmental surveillance and monitoring or human biomarker studies. The successful candidate will be expected to: Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including supervising thesis and dissertation research in environmental health sciences. Develop and sustain an independent, externally funded research program in environmental and/or occupational health, with an emphasis on exposure assessment (e.g., air quality, water quality, chemical exposures, environmental surveillance, environmental monitoring, or biomarker studies). Utilize and oversee laboratory resources to support exposure science, ensuring that analytical and monitoring methods advance public health research and student training. Contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations within the School and across the University. Engage in service and leadership within the School, University, and professional community.

Requirements
- An earned doctorate in environmental health sciences, environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental sciences, or a closely related field
- Strong record of sustained research productivity, including interdisciplinary public health collaborations
- Experience managing and overseeing a research laboratory
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach graduate and undergraduate students
- Experience mentoring early career laboratory scientists
