Division Chief, Pediatric Gastroenterology
On behalf of the Department of Pediatrics at Penn State Health, CareerPhysician, LLC, a national thought leader in academic pediatric executive search, is leading a national effort to identify a transformational and innovative leader to serve as the next Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology in Hershey, PA.
The selected Chief will be charged with strategically expanding the clinical footprint for the division by developing programs and improving efficiency in the clinics, while also fostering an environment that enhances faculty opportunities for scholarly achievements in research and education. Outstanding opportunity to mentor current and future faculty in their scholarly work, clinical trial and the development of programs in motility, hepatology and nutrition
Opportunity Highlights:
- This is a tenured track eligible position for physician leaders who qualify and are eligible for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
- Lead a tremendous team of 6 full-time physicians, 2 full-time nurse practitioners, and a full complement of ancillary staff, including 2 GI nurses, feeding therapists, social workers and dieticians.
- The gastroenterology service maintains an outstanding reputation for patient care and outcomes, while also offering strong collaborations with adult partners and excellent opportunities for bench, translational and clinical research.
- Nationally recognized program that participates in the ImproveCare Now program and provides a fully supported feeding clinic that includes outpatient feeding therapy, nutritionists, and psychologists.
- Pediatric GI faculty and patients enjoy the convenience of a comprehensive Infusion Center housed in the Children’s Hospital for easy administration of biologics for our IBD patients.

Requirements:
- Medical degree – MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
- Fellowship trained, BC/BE in Pediatric Gastroenterology
- Minimum 5 years pediatric gastroenterology experience
- Academic rank of Associate or Full Professor
- Proven leadership experience in an academic healthcare environment
- A strong commitment to patient care, medical student and resident education and research/scholarly activity is necessary
