W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Applied Machine Learning in Lake Forest, IL with the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field plus 8 years related experience. Prior experience must include: Utilize programming languages and tools such as Python, R, Java, SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and Tableau to process massive datasets, build and evaluate predictive models, and deploy scalable solutions into production; Build and deploy machine learning solutions on AWS, orchestrate workflows with Kubeflow and Airflow, implement CI/CD pipelines, manage code with Jira, Bitbucket and GitHub, and deliver scalable web apps and APIs using tools like Redis for low-latency access; Partner with enterprise architects and data stewards to implement governance frameworks, enforce data quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and apply structured problem-solving (A3, root cause analysis, process mapping) to address complex business and data challenges; Design and implement machine learning, deep learning, and optimization algorithms, including Bayesian inference, to generate actionable insights, automate business processes, and align models with strategic goals and key performance metrics. Up to 50% remote work allowed.
Compensation: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $157,300.00 to $262,200.00, which reflects the potential base pay at the time of this posting. Base pay will depend on factors such as work location, relevant experience, and skills. Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or terminate compensation and benefit programs in its sole discretion at any time, consistent with applicable law.
