Job DescriptionAs a part of our Advanced Technology Prototyping team within the Air and Space Force Solutions Business Area, you'll join a diverse group of driven professionals who research and design edge capabilities that address some of the hardest problems within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). We are looking for an engineer to add their skills to our team supporting rapid prototyping efforts. With us, you'll be able to make an impact while you hone your skills and grow your career. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Job Responsibilities
- Work as part of a software development team to design and implement rapid prototypes for a broad range of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), sensor exploitation, tracking, and Command and Control (C2) challenges
- Develop cutting-edge modeling and simulation tools and algorithms across the air, land, sea, space domains in real-time and faster-than-real-time systems
- Take ownership of code bases from requirements, design, implementation, maintenance, and test
- Lead small teams including decomposing high-level tasks
- Participate in the Agile development process and employ DevSecOps best practices
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task, readily adapt to change, and respond to quick turn-around requests
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers across various groups and divisions
- Support customer meetings, demonstrations, or other externally facing opportunities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science field with 6+ years of relevant professional experience OR an advanced degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience
- Capable of leading teams of software and system engineers including managing scope and schedule
- Experienced developer with strong coding, debugging, design and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in multiple high-level programming languages, e.g. Java, C++, Rust, etc.
- Experience using collaborative source code management, Agile Development, and DevSecOps
- Experience with Windows and Linux Development Environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and nontechnical teammates
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- TS/SCI Clearance
- Motivated collaborator with internal and external teams
- Familiarity with real-time or time critical processing pipelines
- Experience with cloud native technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Harbor, Helm
- Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Space, air, and/or ground systems
- Modeling & simulation (M&S)
- Tracking methodologies
- Command and control (C2)
- Mission planning
- Data analysis and performance evaluation
- UI/UX design and development including GIS
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
