Description
Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- 2 years of experience in taking technical products from conception to launch.
- Experience building consumer facing products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts and applications and LLMs.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cross-team partners.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, in the context of AI/ML driven solutions.
- Passion for Google Maps and improving user experience through relevant technologies.

The Google Maps User Generated Content (UGC) team empowers users to contribute their local knowledge and experiences to make Google Maps the most accurate and comprehensive map of the world. We build engaging and rewarding experiences that encourage users to share their insights, reviews, and photos, enriching the map for everyone.
In this role, you will drive the direction and strategy for personal utility within Google Maps UGC, with an emphasis on leveraging AI/ML to change the way people use Maps. You will contribute to advancements in personal utility experiences on Maps for users. This involves defining and developing features powered by AI/ML that allow users to leverage their contributions for a personalized Google Maps experience, including personal recall, organization, and tracking. A key aspect of this role will be co-developing core principles for Large Language Model (LLM) and other machine learning (ML) personalization on Maps with other Geo teams.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
Responsibilities
- Drive the exploration and integration of AI/ML technologies to personalize the contributor experience.
- Develop and execute a product strategy for step-changes in personal utility, personal benefits based on the user's UGC-related actions in Maps, with a focus on AI/ML technologies.
- Define product requirements and collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver AI/ML powered features.
- Identify opportunities to leverage user contributions for individual benefit, driving increased engagement.
- Utilize data analysis and user research to inform product decisions and measure success.
