Description
- Institute of Glycomics of Shantou University Medical College (IGSUMC, one of the first pilot universities in the country for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program, the first medical school in Guangdong Province to implement the 5+3 integrated training program for clinical medicine, and a university in Guangdong Province designated for the construction of high-level key disciplines, has received significant support from Mr. Ka-shing Li. The IGSUMC, focused on the research, development, and application of cutting-edge glycomics technologies, has developed GlycoDecoder, the world's first such tool, to expand and deepen basic and clinical research in glycomics and glycoRNA. The GRI has state-of-the-art instrumentation, including Thermo Orbitrap and Bruker MALDI-TOF-MS systems, and over 4,000 square meters of research space. By advancing innovation and application of glycosylation detection technology, the Institute is establishing a comprehensive platform integrating basic research, technology development, product innovation, and clinical translation, ultimately promoting the widespread application of glycomics in medicine, biotechnology, and public health.
