Are you a technical visionary and a hands-on leader? Do you thrive on solving complex, real-world problems for major customers? Celestica is seeking a highly accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Director of Engineering to lead a critical customer engagement from our Shanghai office.
This isn't just a management role; it's a strategic leadership position that demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise, customer-centricity, and a passion for emerging technologies. You'll serve as the principal technical advisor for a key customer, driving innovation and delivering exceptional results that directly impact their business.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
As our Senior Director of Engineering, you will be the technical heart of a strategic customer engagement. Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead Technical Engagement: Serve as the primary technical leader and advisor, building trust and a deep understanding of the customer's business and technical challenges. You will architect and design innovative solutions, leveraging your expertise in areas like AI/ML, to meet their unique needs.
- Drive Engineering Excellence: Lead and mentor a high-performing global engineering team, championing best practices in the full software development lifecycle. You will foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous improvement, from design to deployment.
- Ensure Quality Outcomes: Take accountability for project success by defining and implementing robust quality assurance processes. You will proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring all deliverables consistently exceed customer expectations.
- Engage with the Industry: We're looking for a leader who is active in the tech community. Your engagement with standards bodies and open-source projects like the Linux Foundation, OpenBMC, or IETF is highly valued.
- Influence & Communicate: This is a highly visible role that requires you to interact with executives and major customers. You will effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, setting technical direction and responding to escalations with professionalism and clarity.
Requirements
Your Expertise
- Deep Experience: You have 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of designing and delivering complex software solutions.
Technical Mastery: You are an expert in software engineering principles, design patterns, and architectural best practices. Hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, Linux kernel, platform drivers, and networking chipsets is a must. - Strategic & Customer-Centric: You are a strategic thinker who can translate customer needs into technical solutions. Your exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills allow you to build strong, lasting customer relationships.
- Quality & Leadership: You possess a deep understanding of quality assurance methodologies and a proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams to foster a high-performing environment.
