Celestica is looking for a highly accomplished Senior Director of Design Engineering to lead our global engineering function and make a direct impact on our customers' most complex projects.
This is a strategic leadership role where you won't just manage a team—you will define our vision and execute the strategy for a global business unit. You will be at the forefront of designing next-generation technology, working with market-leading customers to develop solutions that change the industry.
Your Impact at Celestica
As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will provide the vision and strategic direction for a global, multi-site design engineering function. Your work will directly influence our profitability and operational excellence. Your responsibilities include:
- Lead a Global Team: Directly and indirectly lead a diverse team of managers and engineers across our worldwide network. Foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive P&L Accountability: Manage the financial health of your functional area, including budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management. Your decisions will have a serious impact on the success of our global operations.
- Define Strategic Direction: Partner with senior management to set long-term objectives and provide key input into our annual business plans. Your expertise will help shape the future of Celestica’s design architecture.
- Cultivate Customer Relationships: Act as a primary point of contact for our major customers, leading technical discussions and high-stakes negotiations to deliver customized solutions and enhance performance.
- Champion Innovation: Work with our industry experts and internal teams to implement global initiatives, leverage resources, and ensure Celestica remains at the cutting edge of technology.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
We're searching for a dynamic leader who can thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Executive Leadership Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record of leading large, multi-site teams and managing a P&L.
- Strategic Acumen: The ability to develop new strategies and policies to resolve complex problems. You can translate business needs into actionable engineering plans.
- Exceptional Communication: A master communicator who can influence executives, negotiate with customers, and represent the organization in public forums.
Technical Authority: A deep understanding of engineering design, development, and manufacturing in an electronics or related industry. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
