Company History

For more than 50 years, Shields Health has transformed the delivery of care in New England, offering patients cutting-edge technology that is affordable and delivered with compassionate care. Founded by the late Tom and Mary Shields in 1972, what began as a single nursing home has flourished into an innovative network of over 50
facilities specializing in diagnostic MRI, PET/CT scans, and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).

Shields Health’s commitment to innovation is evident in its many firsts in the industry, including being the first in the world to bring AI-powered MRI technology into routine use and the first to offer PSMA PET/CT in the state, and establishing the largest network of freestanding PSMA centers in New England.
