The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. is the largest medical group in the nation, with over 8,000 physicians. We provide medical care to more than 3.5 million members and patients, in the 21 medical centers, each with a hospital and associated medical offices. Overall, Kaiser Permanente provides health care to more than 40 percent of the commercially insured population in Northern California.
Kaiser Permanente is at the top of most published surveys for quality and services. Our unique system of integrated care brings us together for the good of the patient. The constant exchange of knowledge facilitated by our implementation of Health Connect, an electronic medical records and information system helps us work together for the good of over three million members in 34 locations across Northern California.
In partnership with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Inc., TPMG physicians train over 350 residents in 15 medical specialties. Several TPMG, Inc. physicians have academic appointments at Northern California medical schools, including Stanford, UCSF, and UC Davis.
TPMG, Inc.’s Division of Research (DOR) is among the largest non-university based research programs in the nation, with more than 400 researchers and $33 million in funded research annually. DOR is a leader in research on chronic diseases and disparities of care.
